Meet Karen Stafford-Brown

Karen Stafford-Brown brings 30 years of experience across engineering, science, research, education, leadership, business development, management consulting, and professional coaching.

In her various private sector, non-profit, and public sector roles such as Market Director, Client Service Leader, Manager of Engineering Services, Employee Engagement Specialist, Senior Project Manager, and Chapter President and Past-President, she has decades of first-hand experience with the challenge of fewer resources meeting increased expectations.

Grounded in curiosity, kindness, and teamwork, Karen overcame such challenges by creating and implementing initiatives, using coaching skills to uncover sticking points and achieve alignment, and leading teams with as many as 280+ members to improve:

Her background combines technical credibility with people-centered leadership.  Karen maintains environmental engineering licenses in Texas and New Mexico, a floodplain manager certification, and she is a professional and leadership coach, earning her Coach certificate through Rice University’s CoachRICE program.

Karen’s approach is practical, thoughtful, and deeply human.  She helps people get unstuck, shift out of thinking pattern ruts, imagine new solutions, work through difficult situations, and achieve better outcomes.
